Fall in Tennessee

Fall is in the air here in Tennessee!  I pulled out my collection of stuffed owls (yeah, I know - who on earth has a collection of stuffed owls...well, I should say they are, cute, whimsical ones of course).
My hubby valiantly got this giant white pumpkin at Kroger for me and put it in the buggy after I started squealing at the sight of the pumpkin display (any size for $5.99!).  I said I wanted a really big one naturally! A guy passed us after hubby put it in the buggy and yelled out "hey buddy, did you have to get a crane to get that thing in there"...yikes - I guess it is a good thing my hubby didn't have to go into traction...

Thus, he wins 47 brownie points!  I scooted it into the living room and then glued on sunflower seeds for eyes with button centers, an acorn from Big Lots (cut in half - Styrofoam center makes it easy), and pine cone ears.  Mr. Punkin is very happy currently and brightens my day!

Wedding Bliss

This summer I spent a boatload of time making decorations for my son's wedding rehearsal dinner.  I decided on a "Love Birds" theme, and well, I wish that I didn't feel the goofy need to hand-make everything - but it kept me occupied and made it all more special!  My most awesome, talented mom made both of the wedding cakes!

Summer fun...

I think it is already getting darker earlier in the evenings and I am distressed!!  Ugh!  I love summer and I am having a great one.  I have been working a lot on decorating for my son's upcoming rehearsal dinner and for some wacky reason, decided to hand make about everything...nutty...I am having lots of fun however, and hope that it is super-special for them.  Here's hoping your summer is fantastic also - pictures to come soon!!

An Orange and Blue kind of day...

Ah...a soggy day full of paint.  I was asked to paint this saying for someone who recently went through some very serious cancer treatments.  She stated that it was first her faith, then her family, then her friends that got her through the ordeal.  Her favorite flower is a daisy, and the Orange and Blue?  Lady Vols colors of course!  I pray that when she sees this, it will be a reminder of God's faithfulness to her and of His compassion and love.
